Quantum Foundry vdW Assembly Lab
The UCSB NSF Quantum Foundry van der Waals assembly lab is operational! Shaimaa and Kamyar (and Nick and Sahil not shown) are working hard to make high-quality heterostructures and bright site-controlled quantum emitters.
With the assembly lab operational, we now have the ability to exfoliate and assemble high-quality vdW materials in an inert glove-box environment with a 100X microscope for stacking with controlled heterostructure twist angle and substrate temperature, AFM characterization and smoothing (soon), and in-situ photoresist deposition and metallization for electrical contacts. Thanks to Andrea Young's group and CNSI staff for helping to get the lab up-and-running!
