Kamyar was born in Sanandaj, Kurdistan Province, Iran. He received his B.Sc. degree in Engineering Science - Electronics with a minor in computational sciences at the University of Tehran, Iran, 2017. Kamyar received his MSc degree in Electronics and Photonics from UC Santa Barbara in 2019, where he worked at Nanoelectronics Research Lab on thermal and electrical properties of lateral 2D TMD interfaces. His current research interest is in studying and characterizing defect complexes in 2D TMDs for application in quantum light generation and quantum computing. In his spare time, Kamyar practices classical guitar, enjoys playing video games, and dwells on podcasts centered around socio-political philosophy.
