Mrinmoy Kundu

I grew up moving around different cities in Bangladesh and received both my B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET). Before starting my Ph.D. at UCSB, I taught as a lecturer at BUET. My current research interests lie in the fundamental principles of quantum photonics and their integrated implementations to enable technologies for quantum information processing, communication, and sensing. Outside academia, I enjoy traveling, stargazing, and exploring history.

Recommended Reading: I am a huge fan of Griffiths’ Introduction to Quantum Mechanics and Introduction to Electrodynamics which helped me build foundation during my undergrad days. For my current work, I regularly flip through Introduction to Quantum Optics by Grynberg and Aspect and Nonlinear Optics by Boyd.
