Joshua Castro

Josh is graduate student in QPL. He was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. He received a B.S. in NanoEngineering from UC San Diego in 2019. His current research interests include integrated nanophotonics, quantum computing, and conspiracy theories. With the tools and skills he gains on his way to a PhD, he hopes to make an impact in the world around him. In his free time he enjoys long walks on the beach and playing guitar.

Recommended Reading: Quantum Optics by Mark Fox is an excellent resource for people just starting off on the subject. The concepts are explained well enough to give the reader an intuitive understanding of the material. For light reading, A thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini is a novel that has received much praise since its release and is a personal favorite.
